Veranda System

The Veranda is a colony system for either broiler or layer breeders, or as an enriched cage for layers. The multiple tiers, multiple row system improves welfare for both birds and workers in the barn. While using vertical space, as in a traditional colony system, the Veranda departs from the conventional floor design increasing the number of birds for the floor area used.

  • Higher egg production
  • Larger flock size
  • Better livability
  • Better chick quality
  • Increased production capabilities

With the same amount of square footage as a floor system, flock size in the Veranda Nest can be increased by two to three times as many birds. The automated nests improve egg production numbers, and also egg quality. Because the birds are fed with the Vencopan there is equal disbursement of feed and water, which contributes to uniformity or growth and cost.

The manure belts keep waste away from the birds, and when used with our heat exchanger, the belts act as drying trays. This is how the amount of ammonia in the barns is significantly reduced, which improves working conditions in the barn, and living conditions for the birds. Happier employees and happier birds.
